The VITOUR LANDSCAPE Project is a result of the cooperation put in place during 2005 and 2007 by 6 of the actual 10 project partners, from Italy, Austria, France, Hungary, Germany and Portugal, under the previous project VITOUR (INTERREG III C). After this first cooperation, 4 other European UNESCO World heritage wine growing areas, namely Pico island, Montalcino/Orcia Valley, Wachau and Lavaux joined the group of the VITOUR network and together they decided to present a new project, under INTERREG IVC, to improve and innovate local and regional policies for cultural landscape preservation and valorisation in their wine growing areas.

The good policy practices the partners will exchange during 10 technical seminars which will focus on the description and analysis of actions already implemented in various fields of interest linked to the global theme of "landscape preservation and valorisation". They focus on: respectful and harmonious spatial planning and landscape, urban or village development policies; respectful, harmonious and innovative architecture and landscape architecture for UNESCO wine cultural landscapes, particularly dry stone wall maintenance in vineyards

Vitour Newsletter

The VITOUR LANDSCAPE Newsletter keeps you updated with developments regarding the Interreg IVC project VITOUR LANDSCAPE, an initiative to exchange good policy practices between UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites and to find common guidelines for the preservation and enhancement of highly valuable cultural wine growing landscapes for a sustainable development.
The VITOUR LANDSCAPE project is part-financed by the EU - E.R.D.F. 2007-2013 – Objective 3 – Territorial Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC. The Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC, financed by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund, helps Regions of Europe work together to share experience and good practices in the areas of innovation, the knowledge economy, the environment and risk prevention. EUR 302 million is available for project funding but, more than that, a wealth of knowledge and potential solutions are also on hand for regional policy-makers.
